Then they toyed with consistency and opacity: jelly and "Sorbet" vs the standard opaque cream...
Most recently, they played with effects: magnetic patterns, "Crackle" and "Shatter"...
And now, it's all about TEXTURE!
Have you noticed the influx of polishes that challenge the assumption that nails have to dry to a smooth finish?

OPI, Zoya, and Nails Inc have each recently released polishes that purposefully dry bumpy, calling the effect "liquid sand", "pixie dust" and "leather effect", respectively.
I haven't tried them out yet, as they didn't initially appeal to me, but I am getting curious. How about you? Have you tried them out yet? What do you think?

It's a new trend, and I'll probably try it, like I did for past ones. But honestly, all this looks like to me is a glitter polish with a matte top coat. I won't bother shelling out for these new gimmicky polishes!
